In Group lessons, you’ll practice communicating your ideas and getting your point across, even if you don’t have perfect grammar or vocabulary.
You'll also have the opportunity to learn alongside students from around the world (and hear a wider variety of accents). Feel empowered to make mistakes and learn from them—together.
Each lesson is led by a native English speaking tutor and you are joined by up to two other students. When you schedule your lessons, you get to choose the level and the length.

All students are expected to follow the Cambly Code of Conduct.
FAQ
How do I join my group lesson?
You can schedule and join your group lessons right from your dashboard under your Schedule. |
Join your group lesson just before the lesson starts. Be sure to press <Continue> once your tutor has joined.
Do group lessons follow Cambly Courses?
Group lessons give students the chance to practice real-world conversations by freely discussing topics they’re interested in while still being guided by a Cambly tutor. So, they don’t follow Cambly Courses.
Instead, each student in the group gets to share experiences, information, and ideas related to the lesson topic. Here are just a few of the topics you get to choose from:
Travel Talk World News New in Sports New in Entertainment Cultural Connections Your Week in Work New in Business |
Technology and Science Health and Wellness Music Matters The Body (Beginner) Work - At the office (Beginner) Education (Beginner) Art and Media (Beginner) |
Can I take more than one group lesson?
Yes, you can schedule as many lessons as you have included in your plan.
Take the same lesson topic more than once. You'll have the chance to meet new people in each group lesson making every discussion unique.
Let’s say you love movies and television, you could take the lesson, New in Entertainment every week. Have new and interesting conversations about what's happening in the world of entertainment every lesson.
What if I get disconnected during the lesson?
You'll be directed to a page that lets you know that you were disconnected. You can then choose to reconnect to the classroom or go back to your homepage. You can even try refreshing the page anytime you need.
What if the group lesson didn't happen or wasn’t completed?
If you or your tutor cancel in advance, your lesson is automatically returned. You can then schedule a new lesson before your weekly minutes refresh.
If the lesson ends completely or your tutor is unable to reconnect, you can ask for your lesson to be returned. Just follow these step-by-step directions in our Help Center.
Are lesson videos available?
At this time, you won't be able to review a lesson video. However, you will see any group lessons you've taken in your Lesson History under the Progress tab. So, please feel free to take notes during your lesson.
